2019-2020 SECTION OFFICERS ELECTED!

On September 20th at around 5:00pm arrowmen from Section W-4N began to gather at Camp Whitsett. Amounting to a total of about 200 arrowmen, Section W-4N’s weekend of fun and fellowship was off and running. After a full year of planning led by Section Chief Gavin Cho, the Council of Chiefs executed this soaring. At Conclave 2019, camp promotions, Pilot, a Lodge Expo, patch trading, and the classic Flight of the Thunderbird were a few out of many activities arrowmen could participate in.

That Friday night was an evening of fellowship, getting to know one another and preparation for the weekend ahead. The next morning started bright and early with Meet the Man, including the National Vice Chief, Eric Harrison, W-1S Section Chief James Verheyden, W-4S Chief Adrian Castanenda, Past Region Chief Jordan Jefferis, and many more. Following Meet the Man, many fellowship type games such as gaga-ball, volleyball, and so much more engaged arrowmen to meet one another across the section. Prior to lunch, lodges pitched their tents and tables to participate in the Lodge Expo. Lodge mascots and arrowmen walked among booths of branding, Order of the Arrow High Adventure promotions, food, and much else.

After lunch, lodges assembled their teams to compete in the classic 4N relay-style race: Flight of the Thunderbird. Lodges competed in events such as running, balloon woggle race, and Lodge Chief Oreo eating competition. Others went through the Pilot Training program and the Silent Patch Auction took place. Later in the afternoon, Eric Harrison led the Section in electing our 2019-20 Section Officers: Section Chief Gavin Cho, Section Vice Chief Brayden Armes, and Section Secretary Steven Soto. Following dinner, famous NOAC actor Enrique Valenzuela and Jadelyn Bruce continued their acting from NOAC incorporating the Conclave Theme the Sky is the Limit. The evening continued with a Live Auction where arrowmen participated in bidding for amazing treasures of the lodges in the section and patches across the nation. Finally, the evening ended with the fellowship of everyone chatting and still playing sports late into the evening.

The weekend ended with a reverent Interfaith Worship Service under the dinning fly followed by the Closing Show / Awards Ceremony where awards for the Conclave weekend competitions were presented. The show ended with National Vice Chief Eric Harrison inducting the new Section leaders into their offices. The weekend was as soaring as it was made out to be, as lifelong memories and friendships were created.
